Jayendra is from the U.S. but lives in Europe, where he has been leading Anusara yoga teacher training programs for many years. Recently, he’s had the opportunity to study the yoga tradition with three outstanding scholars: Carlos Pomeda, Bill Mahony and Paul Muller-Ortega. Jay met Swami Muktananda in 1978 and has been studying and practicing Siddha Yoga meditation ever since. He’s able to share the philosophy and practices of yoga with clarity, depth, and a light good humor.

Asana class and philosophy discussion
This weekend, we’ll focus on three of the main eras in the development of the yoga tradition: the Veda, Vedanta, and non-dual Tantra. In each session, we’ll begin with 45-60 minutes of discussion about the philosophy, follow that with a full asana practice of 90+ minutes, and conclude with meditation.
Saturday: 10:45am-1:45pm:
The Vedic Vision – the World as Sacred
Saturday: 3-6 pm: Vedanta’s Addition – the Divine in the Heart
Sunday 10:45am-1:45pm: The Tantric Universe – It’s all Shiva-Shakti
Mornings: Surya Namaskar, standings, arm balances, backbends and inversions.
Afternoon: hip-openers, forward bends, and twists
All sessions are mixed level: all yoga students invited.
Cost: $40 per workshop class OR
$110 for the entire weekend, $95 for the entire weekend if register by July 26. |
